FINAL REMINDER for the Thandeka crossjump show this weekend

SA Junior Champs are to be held in Port Elizabeth this year, venue and date are still to be confirmed.

Date: 11th September 2014

Having returned from WEG 14, I would like to congratulate Alex Peternell on his performance in the Eventing. Alex finished 40th out of field of 92 on Asih. His cross country round was particularly noteworthy on a course that was of high world championship standard, with options that took a lot out of a horse. Alex rode a direct track in a good rhythm, to finish clear for jumping with time penalties. No combination were within the time in the entire field, with some big names having problems with the course. Alex represented us well and upheld Eventing for South Africa. His support Team looked good in South African kit and there was no doubt that South Africa was at the Games. I would like to thank Alex's Team, Sarah, Susan and Helen, who where professional and looked after Asih well. Thanks to Graham Winn, the Chef d'Equipe, assisted by Martyn Swanepoel both helped Alex and gained valuable experience at an Event of this nature to bring back to South Africa. Thanks also to Sheelagh Higgerty, the team vet and Deon Augustyn and the SAEF Team for all their assistance in making things happen at a WEG 14, a games that as has already been reported on the social media had some organisational problems.
